Full Bringer
I challenged myself to attempt to make a Full Bringer. I chose to make Yasutora Sado's Brazo Derecho del Gigante. (Right arm of the Giant)
Yasutora is of apears to Mexican origin, as such his darker skin tone contrast with the cream of the local japanese students.
His Full Bring was caused by focusing his Spritual Pressure on his Skin. His pride in his heritage, brought on by the last word his late grandfather gave him.

Being that this was a shield, I decided that it would be best to make it out of lighter material, as i would be weilding it all day.
Had I made it out of pine it would have to be thicker, in order to make the convex shape. This would result in excessive weight, making transport and comfort difficult. As such I chose to make it out of fabric. I made a small scale plan, which I then scaled up by using multiplication squares. With the full scale plan done I traced it out onto two piece of 3mm Pelform. I added plastic corset boning onto one layer before trapping it with the second piece. The layers were attached to one another using BondaWeb, a sheet variant of Hemming tape. A black base fabric (Drill) was modified with velcro loops for attachment to the arm and then then attached to the Pelform via BondaWeb, with the excess being cut off. The top was covered using the BondaWeb method once more. The edge was then disguised by using Bias Binding. The red design was made using a Suede variant, which being not as woven as normal fabrics could be cut into the irregular shapes without it coming undone. BondaWeb was once again used to bond the fabrics, with hand stitching through the pelform to stop problem areas from de-laminating. The same techniques was used to make the Pauldron. |
