TV & Movies
I have three project which are inprogress, the source material for these projects comes from Cartoons, Televison series and Animated Movies.
The First Project in the page is Astrid Hofferson's Axe from How To Train Your Dragon 2.
It is a simple double headed viking axe with intricate details. I am currently contemplating how I wish to do it. I already have a base from which to start.

I need to fashion the decorative elements on the 'wings' of the axe, along with the pommel and 'crown'. The decorative pieces can be made from Pine or Plywood. The crown and Pommel, can be sculpted out of clay or perferably out of foam covered in Worbla. This will allow it to stay light weight yet, impact resistant.
The rest of the details will come after paint as it looks to be mostly leather wrapping at the top and bottom of the handle, along with a blue and red cord crossover in the center and lower portion of the axe head.

My second project is Finn's Golden Sword from Adventure Time.
The prop is a simple weapon, a damaged, straight, dual edged short sword, with a oblong cross guard and a circular pommel with a red jewel in each side. I did not know many weathering techiques then I made this and due to not wanting it to look brand new, considering the damage I already added to it, it left it be until I knew more techiques.

I scaled the Sword up to a mans sized hand, so that it would be comfortable for me to hold.
Being that I want it weathered, I will end up painting the Blade in Gold, and the Cross guard, handle and pommen in a dark grey. I will then using a black oil based paint smear and then remove the excess rubbing the dark paint into the crevasses, bringing the piece to life. As for the Jewel, I will probably cannibalize some from toys that I will buy at the Chinese Bazaar and affix it in place with a hot glue gun.

For the last Project on this page I have the Klingon Bat'leth from TV series Star Trek.
This project has sat on myself for some time as I do not know what to do to it. I is supposed to be a simple piece of metal. Perhaps I have not finished it becasue I prefer the making, testing and learning instead of the finished prop.

The only viable option would be to use a router with a round-over bit on the cut-outs.
Paint the piece in silver or perhaps even wrap the whole piece in aluminum ducting tape.
If i finish it off with Ducting tape, I can buff it back using 000 wire wood, giving it a more natural metal apperance.
The last step would be to Wrap the handles in black flat cotton cord, Either stapled or hot glued at the ends.
